Vinyl and Octavia has recently moved to Vinyl's old hometown of Ponyville for a change of pace.
What the pair didn't count on was the appearence of a certain pink pony who drags up bad memories from a certain gala for the grey earth pony. Luckily those memories won't stay with her for that long.

The Music Consortium reigns supreme in Equestria, and dictates all music in the country from their stronghold, the Conservatory in Canterlot. Octavia, born in Canterlot, raised at the Conservatory, an excellent celloist and faithful representative of the Consortium, is called in and interrogated by the Consortium's secret police regarding her love affair with Vinyl Scratch, a banned dissident. Rather than being executed, Octavia is ordered to turn Vinyl Scratch in. Now she must choose between her loyalty to her masters, or the love of her life, who has shown her that the Consortium is not as pure as she thought it was, and that it stamps out true peace and love that music is supposed to promote.

"And how are we today, Miss Octavia?"

Her light purple eyes jerked up from the carpet they had been absorbed in to regard the unicorn that had posed the question. Her name, Octavia knew, was Pink Plasters. Her coat was a pale pink, with a cutie mark depicting two plasters crossed over each other to form an X. The white mane and tail complemented her coat perfectly, in Octavia's opinion.

"Fine," she muttered lightly, "perfectly fine." Octavia was always fine.

As fine as a pony stuck in Healing Hooves Psychiatric Hospital can be, anyway.

Music...it's what drives her, what gives her life. Vinyl Scratch lives for the next thrum of the bass, the next stomp of dancing hooves...but lately, she finds she wants more. What more could there be than living your dream? As she ponders this, she may find that she needs a guide to walk with her through the maze of life...someone who cares about who she is, instead of what she can do.

Living as an independent DJ has given Vinyl Scratch a rough life. Things are not easy, and they're getting tougher. When she meets Octavia Philharmonica, she finds herself entranced as well as filled with resentment. Only time will tell if their connection through music will spawn a beautiful relationship or a formidable rivalry.

Our story begins as Vinyl Scratch takes a stroll around Canterlot to find her two friends Lyra and Bonbon. Turns out they are there to get Vinyl for Bonbon's birthday party. So the three mares set off to catch a train for Ponyville and at the train station Vinyl sees a breathtaking mare named Octavia. Is it love at first sight? Vinyl must know more about this mare.

This is an Octavia x Scratch fic. Many of the Octavia x Scratch fics I've read are with Octavia's point of view so I wanted to try and make one with Vinyl's. Hope you enjoy it, comment any critisism, errors, anything you think might need fixing.

Octavia has finally been promoted to first chair, unfortunately for her, that chair is in the new (and as of yet unformed) Royal Ponyville Orchestra. Now, the best cellist in Equestria (Her words) is being sent to the cultural gulag of Ponyville (Also her words) to form and lead the Royal Ponyville Orchestra to greatness (Princess Luna's words).

Octavia was being chased, Vinyl decides to be brave and stays back to defend Octavia. Tavi Manages to escape and finds her self in the woods where the unexpected happens, and she wakes up screaming what happens next?
