Everypony knows that Pinkie Pie is one of the best bakers in Ponyville. However, one pony is better at making muffins then even the party pony herself and that is Ponyville's clumsy mailpony: Derpy. Her secret? Using deductive reasoning and logic to figure out what type of muffins would be best for certain ponies based on their mood, behavior, looks, mail, and more.

Upon learning this, Pinkie Pie sees a way to give more joy to those she cares about with her treats and asks Derpy to take her on as a student.

Pinkie's been an apprentice baker ever since she moved in with the Cakes, and part of that is because she hasn't completed her master piece: the dish which will prove she's worthy of the unamended title. For her, that's a soufflé. Something she's never been able to successfully bake.

With the Cakes out of town and the bakery closed for a day, Pinkie has a chance to spend her time in trying to take that final step. And perhaps somewhere before the end of her failures, she'll learn something about why doing so was important --

This situation is going to have to be solved Rainbow Dash style. No one really knows what that means, but it definitely means a lot of bruises.

Maud Pie has been tormented by a secret she has had to keep from Pinkie Pie for many years. A secret that her Nana has now taken to her grave, but which Maud feels she needs to tell. She owes the truth to her adoring baby sister... but after all of these years, how can she come out and tell her something that could change the way she sees herself and the world around her?
