Twilight is nearing the her due date with her first foal. After her friends and family force her onto maternity leave, she devotes her time to the task she'd been putting off for months: picking a name for her son. Though for Twilight, it's never as simple as picking up a book. Luckily, a certain magic tool might come in handy.

Twilight is the coolest mare in the world. She's the coolest mare in any world really. Like cooler than a new book.

Today, she brings that coolness to a whole new world.

In the library of Twilight Sparkle's castle, there is a book where none should be. There is no record of it being entered into the collection. It is not in the card catalog. It has never been checked out. Before yesterday nopony knew it existed.

It is the only book she has ever tried to destroy.

With nothing happening, no world-conquering villains or Crystal Hearts being shattered and so on, Twilight is bored. She has nothing to do, plainly. But while in the middle of a drab reading session, she notices something doesn't feel right. Not to her, but in the night sky. She can't see it, but she can sense it. Something not from this world has entered her world, and it could be the first ever message from aliens.

And perhaps those aliens are trying to say hello.

Twilight Sparkle and her friends had gotten the objects they needed to get Starswirl The Bearded and the Pillars of Equestria out of Limbo. However, after trying, nothing happened, and the Elements of Harmony abandoned the place with no hope.

Unbeknown to them, the Pillars are slowly returning to Equestria...

Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship. She has amazing friends, a royal title, a school, a castle, everything a mare could ever want in her life. She was perfect.

Trixie Lulamoon, a normal unicorn, no title, an amateur magician, and not very well liked by others. She spends most of her time alone in her wagon, lost in thoughts or hiding from ponies who hated her.

What happens when they finally decide to tell their friends about their relationship and sexualities?

Starlight Glimmer had the perfect plan: using Star Swirl's time travel spell, erase the Sonic Rainboom and everything it did. After failing to stop her, Twilight was returned abruptly to an Equestria that bears little resemblance to her home, where the other Elements of Harmony don't even know her name.

It should've been simple then: use Star Swirl's magic to return to the past and stop Starlight from changing things. Unfortunately for Twilight, all the magic in the Cutie Map is gone. She'll have to find another way to put Equestria right, and fast. After all, the Elements didn't stop Nightmare Moon...
