Clover Cordelia is a freshmare student at the Cambridle Academy of Magic who is determined to become a great sorceress.

Star Swirl the Bearded is a legendary wizard in need of an apprentice.

It's a tough job, working for the world's greatest wizard. On top of the usual challenges of student life there are apocalypses to deal with, and assassins who show up at inconvenient times, and plant life scheming for world conquest.

It's probably nothing Star Swirl can't take care of, provided he and Clover manage to resist killing each other first.

Previously updated alongside its prequel, The Crown of Night. It is not necessary to read The Crown of Night first.

When it’s discovered that these creatures are immune to unicorn spells, Twilight comes up with a bold idea to harness earth pony magic to combat the menace. Applejack must take the first steps on a new path she never expected, which just might be the biggest challenge she’s faced yet.

A young man has to learn to live with the consequences of his brash decision, as he learns to live in a new town, a new world, and a new body.

I would appreciate some feedback, though I hope my skin is as thick as I think it is. I am uncertain whether to add the dark tag first chapter is pretty dark if you ask me but past that it isn't so much. Edit: Decided to add the dark tag.

Twilight Sparkle, aspiring student of Princess Celestia has been tasked with the most difficult challenge a Magian must face. Making friends. Along the way she will discover what it means to truly be a friend and uncover a power unlike any other.

Princess Celestia is overcome with distress prompted by the wish Princess Luna granted. Celestia had cast the same spell performed for that wish with good intentions in years only remembered from archived memories. Never did she expect the harsh consequences that would soon follow the act. Spike is in danger of losing himself to the new change, and Celestia knows very well the devastating outcome will take its toll. Will a quick adhesive solution solve the problem or is it too late? Wherein lies the real solution?

Note: The 'Sad' tag mostly revolves around Princess Celestia due to her past memory. I've noticed some other areas where the tag also applies but, nonetheless, this is not meant to be an altogether sad story.
