After centuries of ruling, Celestia and Luna finally walk away from their roles as Equestria's leaders. But when one has been in a job for as long as they have, it can be hard to really settle down and ease out of it. However, never let it be said that the two sisters aren't determined to try.

This story takes place after the events of the episode "Keep calm and flutter on."

After Discord's reformation, he decides to have a bet with Princess Celestia. Wanting to see her chaotic side, a bet was made between the two. For one whole week, Celestia will agree to become a draconequus, to see if she can control the powers of chaos itself. Celestia agrees on the condition that should she win, she gets to transform Discord into whatever she wants for a week in turn. However, Celestia has many secret desires and it doesn't take long for her to start abusing her new chaotic magic...

Princess Celestia is a mare of refined tastes. She prefers her cakes triple chocolate, and her coffee four sugars. However when Luna brings in Twilight with news of an incoming threat that neither of them can face, Celestia is forced to stand up and fight.
And this time, she's taking her socks off.

Celestia brushes her teeth three times a day (at least she did since it was invented) so she believed she had nothing to worry about on a dental front. So how the Tartarus did she get a toothache?! Now the Princess of the Sun must do something she hasn't done for hundreds of years: visit a dentist!

So it's finally happened. After being kicked in the shin by Celestia, Discord is officially dying. Now Celestia wants to know if he has any last requests before he goes.

What a silly, silly thing of her to ask.

When a colt named "Bad Dude" storms into Celestia's personal study and declares himself as her latest arch enemy, the Princess can't help but nearly gush from the sight. As perhaps the cutest villain Celestia has ever encountered, she hurriedly calls for Luna to meet him as well.

But is there more to "Bad Dude" than his cute exterior would suggest?

No. No there is not.

Luna's having trouble. She doesn't know where she fits in, and she can't run night-court until she can at least understand the modern problems of modern ponies. In an effort to find a place in this brave new world, the Princess of the Night decides there's only one solution.

Get a job.

After all, how hard could it be to get a job working retail, with Hearth's Warming Eve coming up?

Luna has fallen back to Equestria. And, to her shock, she is no longer Nightmare Moon. Perhaps this is her second chance at life. Will she find it, wandering aimlessly into the nearby town? What will the new ponies she meets think? Can she truly hide among them, disguised as one of their own? Well, perhaps, with a little help from some new friends, as she leaves behind her crown, to run away from her past that haunts her.

But can you ever truly escape the monster you've become?

After an urgent summon from Fancy Pants, both Celestia and Luna attend Day court. However, a new precedent is set when Fancy Pants presents a male alicorn to the two princessess, one he found dumpster diving behind his house.
