Six months have passed since Rainbow showed up with sandwiches. Twilight is by no means okay, but at least she's on the road to recovery. Right?

Twilight is not okay. That much is certain. She hasn't been okay for a very long time. It's been so long since she's felt anything but numbness and apathy...

It finally happened as Twilight always knew it would. The first of her friends had died. The Element of Loyalty too. Not loyal enough to stick around. No, that was the depression talking.

And the lack of sleep. Something was prowling the halls of her castle at night and, for some reason, she was the only pony that ever heard it; although, one guard did mention something strange happening to the lighting once.

It could not be ghosts. Their very concept made no sense. Intangible yet able to hear? What a contradiction.

But just in case…

She did it! She's not only gotten into school, but Celestia has taken her under wing, quite literally at times. It's her first day of direct tutelage and Twilight is beside herself with anticipation.

Caught in an intellectual malaise, Twilight is surprised by her friends who all wish to offer her stimulating mental activities. She soon learns that the road to insanity is paved with good intentions ... and pastry.

Haven't been able to get much writing in recently so I'm doing a few one shots to warm back up. Done in using TMP prompts minus the time limit. Done in one sitting though, took about an hour an ten minutes.
