It's just a day after Trixie's show where she preformed the trick only the Great Hoofdini did before her, diving into the mouth of a manticore and making her first friend in one Starlight Glimmer. But oddly enough, she hasn't gone back on the road for another town, another show. In fact, she's stayed in town a bit longer and when Twilight comes around to investigate she has one particular thing to say that'll leave the Princess of Friendship shocked and confused about her own feelings for the showmare, with her student caught up in the middle of it all...

With the events of the Molestia Night behind them, Luna's mind wanders around the topic. It is only a couple days later that she remembers some very crucial details about her stay on the moon. With the night young once more and her passion heavy, she seeks answers to the questions that her older sister brought up, as well as to her own. The way she does it, however, turns out to be very... Taking a path that no one could have predicted, they discover a traitor, solve an ancient conflict, and go on a journey that will take them all across Equestria-and maybe even the beyond.

Note: I know in the show she returns to her old town in Season 5’s finale, but I don’t care, I think they wasted an awesome opportunity for an entire episode where she returns to her old town.

After Princess Celestia summons Twilight to Canterlot for an urgent matter, she is informed that one of her friends is a disguised changeling. Twilight must figure out which one of them it is, but it's going to take a lot more than simply asking to attain the answer.

This story is a sequel to Queen No More

Twilight Sparkle made the most foolish and selfless decision possible. She saved the life of Queen Chrysalis. The dynamics of Twilight's relationships begin to change as Chrysalis introduces the changeling hivemind to her pony caretaker. Chrysalis' only hope was to relieve her loneliness, but events begin to unfold that will change Equestria forever.

1. This is the sequel to Queen No More but there is a time jump between its end and Hive Alive's beginning.
2. This is Alternate universe due to the fact that this story will run off of a disparate timeline. Events forward of season 2 may be similar OR significantly altered.
3. There is mention in Chapter 3 of an old changeling tale titled As a Star. A version of this has been written by Farseer.
