The Gardevoir and the Dusclops

Canterlot. The Pokemon Festival. 23:10.

Celestia and her family had returned to Canterlot for a slower-paced day as the fifth day was coming to an end. They were still looking forward to the rest of the festival, especially the remaining two weeks. But for now, some downtime was needed.

Luna had entered her room, rubbing her eye as her mane was a complete mess. Inside, her Pokemon were already preparing to clock out for the night. All except for Darkrai and Frillish who are always up.

"Rest well, all of you." Luna yawned. "We don't have too long until this all ends."

"Gligar..." Gligar fell asleep on top of Stufful as everyone ended up in hilarious sleeping positions that made Luna giggle a bit. She placed all of their Poke Balls on the side since they don't stay inside of them when in Luna's room.

However, Luna, with her sharp eye, noticed something unusual. The number of Poke Balls she put to the side all belonged to her Pokemon. Every last one. There was a Poke Ball for all of her Pokemon here except for one that was the odd one out.

"That's odd." She looked over at the corner of her bed, spotting another Poke Ball that didn't belong to any of her Pokemon here. "Did I catch a Pokemon I was unaware of? She scratched her mane. "I caught Karrablast but...His Poke Ball is still with me."

"Oh, right." Darkrai emerged from the shadows. "I should've mentioned. I placed this Poke Ball here."

"Darkrai. You did? Why exactly?"

"I'll let him explain." Darkrai picked up the Poke Ball as he sent out the Dusclops that belonged to the mysterious unicorn who had abandoned him.

"D-Dus...Dusclops?!" Naturally, once he came out of the Poke Ball, Dusclops was terrified and confused the moment he saw Darkrai and everyone else as he backed up into the corner.

"A Dusclops? Luna squinted her eyes. "A friend of yours?"

"Clops...Dusclops!" The Beckon Pokemon was shivering with fear.

"Why is he so terrified?"

"That would be because of me. I caught him and his trainer trying to steal the eggs from the Pokemon Breeding Room over at the Pokemon School. But...his trainer abandoned him."

"Abandoned?!" Luna gasped.

"Right. Without even showing any indication that she would want to take him back. Seems as if she was only using Dusclops to store the eggs and nothing else."

"Dusclops..."

"Is that so?" Luna faced Darkrai before facing Dusclops once more. Luna then decided to approach Dusclops, which only terrified the Beckon Pokemon even further.

"Clops!"

"It's alright," Luna said. "I won't harm you, Dusclops."

"Dus?"

"Darkrai. You're scaring him." Luna whispered over to the Pitch Black Pokemon.

"My apologies." Darkrai submerged into the shadows.

"No need to worry. You're in safe hooves now, Dusclops." Luna placed her hoof on Dusclops.

"C-Clops?" Dusclops's shivering calmed down as he could feel how gentle Luna was compared to his previous trainer. From how Luna was interacting with him, she didn't have a sense of hostility emanating from her.

"Being abandoned by your own trainer must be terrible. I can't imagine why she'd use you as just an object.

"Dusclops...Dus."

"He said that she wasn't his original trainer." Darkrai suddenly emerged from the shadows once more.

"Hm? She wasn't? But this is her Poke Ball, isn't it?" Luna used her magic to bring the Poke Ball over.

"Clops! Dusclops!" Dusclops aggressively shook his head.

"Apparently, that Poke Ball belonged to Dusclops's original trainer. That pony seemed to have stolen it from her."

"Clops." He nodded.

"I see. So you're far away from home now at this point."

"Dusclops..."

"Hold on." Luna turned to face Darkrai. "I heard days ago that there were these Umbrage Thieves who steal Pokemon that belong to trainers across both Equestria and the Pokemon World."

"Right. It's said that they don't go directly for wild Pokemon. Only Pokemon that have trainers. The same can be said for Dusclops here."

"So then does that mean..." Luna was starting to put the pieces together. "That unicorn. Was she an Umbrage Thief?"

"Most likely. I first encountered her in the Pokemon School. She had sky-blue fur, a yellow mane and tail along with golden eyes. And one of the Umbrage Thieves over at the Relief Zone was also a unicorn with golden eyes. Same tall stature, voice and everything."

"That sounds like a clear culprit to me." Luna nodded. "Did you catch her name?"

"I didn't. But I saw her Cutie Mark before she acted during the night. If we can find someone with a mark like that..."

"Then we'll have an Umbrage Thief at our disposal. I wonder...Canterlot is mostly home to many unicorns. Does she live here by any chance?"

"No." Darkrai shook his head. "I've been patrolling Canterlot since last year and there's not a single unicorn here who looks like her."

"What a shame. But at least you caught her appearance. All we have to do is find out who she really is by name. But other than that, we should probably return you to your trainer, Dusclops. They're obviously worried about you."

"Dus." Dusclops appreciated Luna's offer but he had something very important to tell her, concerning the mysterious unicorn.

"Hm?!" And when Darkrai heard Dusclops's words, his attention had shot up. "We don't have to wait to find out her name anymore."

"We don't?" Luna faced Darkrai.

"Dusclops has just given it to us. Her name is Skyblue Shine. That's the unicorn we should be watching out for."

"Skyblue Shine...Well, they're certainly not from Canterlot, that's for sure. You've been with her, Dusclops. Where does she live?"

"Clops. Dus. Dusclops."

"Over at Vanhoover. That's where she lives."

"Vanhoover. Noted." Luna nodded. "Thank you so much, Dusclops. Now, let's get you back to your original trainer right away. Where are they?"

"Dusclops."

"Hoenn. Over at Mossdeep City."

"Then we're off. Rest will have to wait." Luna returned Dusclops to his Poke Ball as she was ready to leave to Hoenn even if she was exhausted. Luckily, Darkrai would be there to assist her along the way.

1:20 AM The sixth day was here.

Noticeably, the festival had simmered down at this time. More than usual. The previous Pokemon Festival lasted 1 week and during that single week, the sixth day was the slowest while the seventh day was the end of it all.

The same energy was flowing in the second festival as well. But it wasn't identical to the fourth day. However, this day would most likely be the time where the entire festival calms down with less hyperactive energy filling it all.

More people, ponies and Pokemon had fallen asleep this time. Things were getting quieter now. Although, this won't last. Especially when the second and final week comes along.

Sunlight and Eventide had already fallen asleep, along with Arcanine and Celestia. But strangely enough, Passion wasn't asleep or present with them. She had gone somewhere else.

And that somewhere was Deerling Forest. Home to many Deerlings and Sawsbucks. At night, the Deerlings and Sawsbucks were asleep too as a group of Morelull ended up revealing themselves.

They only show up at night and for good reason. They give this forest an extra beautiful shine during the night. As if it wasn't beautiful already.

"Lull. Morelull." They all lit up the forest with their hypnotic lights. They were powerful enough to send viewers to sleep. Morelull are helpful to those that find it difficult to sleep during the night.

As for Passion, the reason she was here was simple.

It was about the massive potential that Cynthia, Olympia and her own mother saw in her. And to an extent, the dormant and destructive power that was shown during her battle against Olympia and her two Meowstic.

Passion came out here to better herself. To get stronger for Celestia's sake. And to control that destructive power so that it never overcomes her. Or else, the outcome would be disastrous for everyone.

"Gardevoir." Passion took a deep breath as she began her training. She put both her arms together as she generated a ball of Psychic energy.

She made sure to put all her focus into this ball as she was clearing her mind. Her body was outlined in a pink aura as the trees around her were flowing.

"More?" The Morelull noticed this.

"Voir...!" Passion already had great control of her psychic energy for the most part. So this was simple enough for her as the Psychic ball was flowing with high amounts of infinity energy.

Passion then fired the ball into the distance as it slid on the water, creating rising waves as a pink streak could be seen trailing from it. The Psychic energy ball then rose into the air, blending in with the starry night sky as it blew up afterwards with pink dust falling from above.

Passion smiled as she knew that she had a great chance of easily mastering her Psychic side. And the Fairy side might be on the same level as she created a Dazzling Gleam in her hands.

She spun around as millions of rainbow-coloured rays flew out of her body, dashing everywhere and filling the entire forest. They even blended in with the glow of the Morelull.

The Dazzling Gleams ended up connecting with the trees as they didn't explode when touching them. Instead, the energy within was healthy for trees as the entire forest gained an extra boost in life.

Passion was both skilled in Psychic and Fairy. But what about plasma? The combination between Mystical Fire and Thunderbolt that only Passion can do. Aside from Reshiram and Zekrom and to an extent, Kyurem.

She crossed her arms together, using Thunderbolt on her right and Mystical Fire on her left. By using two moves at once and mixing them, she created plasma.

Plasma was a bit harder to control than Psychic and Fairy energy. Especially when she was still a little Kirlia. But now as a Gardevoir, her control over it has improved to a point where the amount of energy needed to pull it off is minimal but still there.

However, plasma was still the hardest force for Passion to maintain. Summoning it made her body twitch a small bit, but she was able to overpower it quickly.

"Gardevoir!" Passion fired a beam of plasma, aiming it upwards into the sky. The beam of plasma made a sound identical to both Reshiram and Zekrom's roars as it flew so far that it looked like it would reach space.

The amount of power flowing through Passion's body when using plasma was significantly greater than her Psychic and Fairy moves.

The beam of plasma broke through the clouds, even setting them on fire as it had finally diminished. That was as far as it could go. After using that much amount of plasma, Passion took a deep breath. She didn't lose too much energy, but the energy loss was still fairly potent.

After seeing how powerful she can get by putting Mystical Fire and Thunderbolt together, she wondered if she could do the same with Dazzling Gleam and other move combinations.

So that's what she did. She used Dazzling Gleam on one hand and Mystical Fire on the other. This would be her first time trying something new without Celestia herself being here.

However, when Passion summoned both moves on both hands, she could already feel that a somewhat destructive and violent aura was emanating out of them. Which was very unusual. It was almost as if her own body was telling her that this was too risky to put these moves together.

Then, she started thinking back to what Olympia said to her and Celestia after their battle and how Passion almost went berserk.

"Princess Celestia. It seems that I have underestimated Passion's true capabilities. From what I saw at that moment, a terrifying power dwells within her."

"Terrifying?"

"A power that is the complete antithesis to Passion. One that goes against Passion's natural loving nature. Whatever is lurking within her, I fear that if Passion were to Mega Evolve once more, that strange power might be truly unleashed."

Knowing and reminiscing about that, Passion was hesitant to try this. Perhaps, this move combination would bring out that antithesis to her. Olympia did say that if Passion Mega Evolved, that ominous power would return but Passion was feeling that same power with these two moves in hand.

"Hesitant?" But, surprisingly from within the shadows, Cobalion had shown up, startling Passion.

"Garde?!"

"Why do you hesitate? You certainly didn't hesitate with the last two moves you had used earlier." Cobalion asked.

"Voir..." Gardevoir showed him Mystical Fire and Thunderbolt. She explained to him how there was this violent force within her that could seemingly show itself and overtake Passion if she's not careful.

It could only happen during Mega Evolution, but these two moves together seem to hold a faint sense of that same force. Albeit, on a smaller scale. Passion had even considered trying to eliminate this violent force from within her, if possible.

"Is that so?" Cobalion understood her fears. "Well, I suppose it's impossible to avoid it."

"Garde?"

"You were born with that much power from the start. Whether it is dark or not. Trying to deny it is to deny your full potential. Unless you accept it."

"Gardevoir."

"Darkness is not inherently evil, Passion. It is a powerful ally. If you can learn to befriend and embrace the darkness that's within you and accept your imperfections, then nothing will hold you down."

"Garde..." Passion looked at the two moves in her hands. She no longer hesitated as she put the two moves together for the first time.

As Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam merged, the result wasn't anything disastrous so far. Passion's body felt a new kind of twitch, but not one that would unleash that force from within.

When the moves merged, they ended up creating a ball of magical flames with Fairy magic oozing out along with a multi-coloured shine around it. It seemed to be harmless so far as Passion held it in place, trying to maintain it.

Cobalion watched as he was ready to deal with any potential disaster that might occur from this. Even if Passion won't hesitate, that wouldn't mean the power would just stay inside and not come out ever. So he stayed on guard.

Passion closed her eyes as she could already feel this new flow of power enter her. By closing her eyes, she could also feel a sense of that violent force from within. It seems that Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam together can somehow emanate that same aura.

As Passion's eyes were closed, she could see flashes of herself. But in a different light. In fact, there were two of them. One where she looked like her Mega Evolution but with a flowing ethereal hair that matched Celestia's colours. She could also see Celestia's Cutie Mark as apart of her Mega Evolution.

But the second one was unlike the first one. Instead, Passion could see herself on fire. But not in a harmful way. Instead, it looked as if she was apart of the fire. It was hard to tell since it was a silhouette, but her hair was similar to the ethereal hair in the first vision but there seemed to be flames coming out.

Passion gasped as she opened her eyes. She was unsure of what those two visions meant. The first one seemed somewhat natural but the second one was akin to that ominous force that she was so fearful of.

Because of this, Passion accidentally released the two moves together without doing it on purpose. Once both Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam were released, their power was identical to that of the sun as a destructive blast of fire emerged from the ball.

The blast made a horrifying sound that sounded like screaming and the inside of the sun itself. A vile and aggressive aura emanated out of the beam as it was threatening the entire forest.

Cobalion could see that this attack would be enough to destroy all of Deerling Forest. So he immediately summoned his sword as he dashed over to the sunbeam.

The Iron Will Pokemon swung his sword down as he cut the entire attack in half. His slash was so powerful that it actually destroyed the attack, rendering it non-existent as Passion fell on her knees after using it.

"V-Voir...!"

"Perhaps it's greater than I thought." Cobalion went up to Passion. "I can tell you fired it without your own command."

"G-Gardevoir." Passion stood up as her body had recovered from it. She noticed that when she fired it without her own will, it was almost as if someone was taking over her body, forcing her to do so.

She explained that feeling to Cobalion, letting him know that potentially, this ominous force goes beyond just Passion losing control. There might be something more than that. Something that not even she can fully understand.

"Hm..." Cobalion thought for a moment. "I'm not sure how to respond to that. Sorry. But, perhaps Princess Celestia can understand it."

"Gardevoir?"

"Her sister went through something similar many years ago, didn't she?" Cobalion turned around. "There's no better source to ask than your own trainer."

"Garde..." Passion looked down. Cobalion had done all he could as he was leaving to either rest up for the night or continue patrolling and protecting Equestria.

As for Passion, she decided to return to Canterlot under Cobalion's suggestion. That last attack had already taken a lot out of her. Possibly more than the plasma.

"Goodnight. And stay safe." Cobalion said his last words as he vanished into the shadows.

Canterlot. 2:00 AM.

Passion returned to Canterlot Castle with the guards greeting and wishing her goodnight.

The Embrace Pokemon entered Celestia's room, where she saw her trainer asleep alongside Arcanine and Philomena. Now probably wouldn't be the best time to ask her about what happened last night. She seemed so peaceful, sleeping in her bed.

Passion herself was exhausted so she needed some sleep as well. Luckily, ever since she became a Gardevoir, her bed had changed from Kirlia-sized to Gardevoir-sized.

Passion looked over at the Mega Ring that was right on Celestia's table. Seeing it made her think of many possible outcomes if she were to Mega Evolve while using both Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam. Passion was known for worrying about worst-case scenarios, much like Twilight. She can't help but fear the worst every single time.

But thankfully, Celestia, much like Ash, was there to make sure that all her worries would forever begone. They made this vow together during Passion's overflow of power that threatened to destroy both worlds. And they even further established this vow during the battle with Olympia.

So Passion knew she was in good hooves with Celestia. But still, she kept herself aware of this force that seems to have the potential to not only overtake her but fully control her and rob Passion of her own free will. The Embrace Pokemon decided to clear her mind of it as she went over to her bed, clocking out for the night.

Hoenn. Mossdeep City. The city where Pokemon are cherished. 4:00 Am.

Luna and Darkrai had arrived at Mossdeep City in Hoenn after a fairly long trip that involved travelling through many gateways to do so.

Dusclops came out of his Poke Ball as he knew which house belonged to his trainer. He was more than ecstatic to return and see the trainer that he cherished so much.

It has been over 2 months since Dusclops has been separated from his trainer because of the Umbrage Thieves. This was a well-needed reunion. Dusclops reached the home of his trainer as he passed through the door without needing to knock at all.

"Dusclops!" Dusclops called for his trainer.

"Hm?" The trainer responded to the very familiar sound of his partner as he turned around to see Dusclops passing through the walls. Shocked and stunned by what his eyes had seen, he was naturally overjoyed, much like Dusclops, to see his partner again. "Dusclops!"

"Clops!" Both Dusclops and his trainer reunited once more with Dusclops grabbing onto his trainer's head as a way of showing love.

"I missed ya so much, buddy! I knew you'd find a way back here, easy!" He laughed.

"Clops! Dusclops!" But, Dusclops obviously couldn't have made it home on his own. He had help. Great help in the form of Darkrai and Luna. The Beckon Pokemon dragged his trainer out of the house to show him the ones who reunited them.

"Huh?" The trainer looked over, spotting Luna and Darkrai. Darkrai was the one that caught his attention the most. "Oh! A Darkrai?!"

"Dus. Dusclops!" Dusclops went over to Luna and Darkrai, explaining to his trainer that they are the ones who saved him. Darkrai retrieved the Poke Ball just for Luna to find and return it.

"Um. Deepest apologies for interrupting during the night but...I believe this also belongs to you." Luna used her magic to bring out Dusknoir's Poke Ball.

"My Poke Ball?" The trainer's eyes widened as the Poke Ball fell in his hands. "Wait...did you two-"

"Clops!" Dusclops nodded aggressively, giving the clarity that Luna and Darkrai brought him here.

"Oh...! Thank you so much!" The trainer bowed his head multiple times as a show of thanks. "Millions of thanks! I mean it!"

"A-Alright." Luna stuttered. "You're welcome, citizen. You should really thank Darkrai for this the most. He was the one who came up with the brilliant idea to keep the Poke Ball safe and away from the thief who stole it from you in the first place."

"It was nothing." Darkrai scoffed.

"I'm just glad to have Dusclops back." The trainer sighed. "Come on, pal. There's a lot I want you to catch up on."

"Dusclops!" Dusclops clapped his hands together. But before he went back inside with his trainer, he said his farewell to Luna and Darkrai, thanking them for reuniting him with his trainer.

"Stay safe, Dusclops," Luna said. "And goodbye."

"Dusclops!" Dusclops used its powerful hands to grab both Luna and Darkrai, hugging them with love.

"Ugh!" Darkrai squirmed.

"O-Okay! Y-You can let us go now!" Luna's eyes were about to pop out as Dusclops let them both free. "Ah..."

"Dusclops!" And with that, Dusclops returned home with his trainer after so long. Luna and Darkrai could close the page off with this little story, but there was still more to finish off.

Now that they know the unicorn's name, Skyblue Shine and where she lives, they have an amazing lead thanks to Dusclops's time with her. There were still many Pokemon out there stolen by the Umbrage Thieves who have yet to return to their original trainers.

But now Luna and Darkrai, much like Ash, Fluttershy and the others along with the Officer Jenny's have made a vow to catch the thieves and retrieve all the Pokemon they had stolen from others. Wherever they may be as the journey continues.

Chapter 335 End.
