There’s no end to the monsters that lurk in the dark.

Ghosts, werewolves, mad scientists, cultists, mutants, zombies, vampires, aliens and more lie in wait in the dark corners of Equestria, terrorizing the night. But the most infamous and dangerous of them all is the legendary witch Twilight Sparkle, with a five hundred million bit bounty on her head.

Seeking fame and fortune, Rainbow Dash sets out to defeat the legendary witch and collect the massive reward. The one thing she wasn't counting on was Twilight being less evil than she expected.

When Twilight was born, her parents weren't who she thought they were. Regardless, the two god-like entities loved her dearly, not wishing to depart with their beautiful daughter... However, after an incident involving an malevolent entity, that wanted her for some dark plot against all mortal beings, they agreed to disguise and send her away. The decision becoming more painful to both sides, as the link keeping the two god-like beings together, had been cut.

Twenty years later, during an attempted spell, Twilight had been attacked by the entity once more, taking its new chance at her. With its link to her world cut, only able to manipulate the spell, the Entity decides to send her to a different realm, where he has his pawns lying in wait to capture the valued prize. Now, the princess finds herself fighting along side the web-slinging hero, Spider-Man. Though, they have another ally that had been sent to protect Twilight at all cost, even if death comes for him. This protector being something neither teens had ever seen before in their life time...

This is meant as an alternate/speculative take on what Season 3 might be like, drawing heavy inspiration from the third season of ReBoot.

During Shining Armour and Cadance's wedding reception, Princess Luna speaks with Twilight in private, to warn her of an impending Changeling attack on Ponyville. She then assumes the role of Ponyville's military commander, with Derpy serving as her second in command.

Ponyville has become Equestria's first line of defence against the Changelings.

Note: This fic does not fit with the canon map of Equestria. In this, Ponyville is the westernmost settlement in Equestria, Appleloosa is the easternmost with deserts stretching beyond pony territory, and the Everfree Forest covers Equestria's western border.

Second note: As I started writing this before I heard anything about Season 3, there's no reconciling this fic with Season 3.

The events take place after the Main 6 defeated Discord, while the other side, Ash has just finished his adventures in Alola. The two worlds intertwine, making the Ash Ketchum and his partner Pikachu cross paths with Twilight Sparkle and her friends.
